ROUNDBELL PRECISION FLYWHEELS
Flywheels smooth out the movement of model locomotives when wheels and track
get dirty and add the inertia that duplicates the movement of a heavy locomotive
on a real railroad. Flywheels are very important contributors to smoother operation.
Our custom made flywheels are the highest quality in model railroading. To
make them as vibration free as possible the hole and the outer diameter are
machined in the same setup. This manufacturing precision guarantees you the
finest running locomotive possible. The hole is reamed to be a tight press fit on
the motor shaft (just start the flywheel on the shaft by hand and then tap
the shaft into the flywheel with a small hammer, do not press using the motor
case).

The 18 series are from our GlideDrive diesel drive conversions. The FW-181320 flywheels have a .35" x.30"diameter hole in the output ends to allow the output universal to mount to the protruding motor shaft for use with the FM-1824 motor in Athearn SW-7s and SW-1000/1500s etc.
The FW-181820 come with a .20"x.30" recess in the output end to accept NWSL or our UDS series universals.
The FW-181820 and 181920 flywheels come with 2 short 2mm. shafts for inserting in the flywheels after they are mounted on the motor shaft
CUSTOM FLYWHEELS such as with one end bored out for 2/3 of the flywheel length
to allow a Universal Drive Shaft (UDS) to be mounted to the motor shaft on the flywheel
end of a motor are available from LocoDoc directly. Example; order FW-221020Output and
pay $7.50 over the price of the regular FW-221020 flywheel.
Shorter flywheels (specify
length) can be custom made for $7.50 extra. Example FW-220620(Short)
